How did writing Immanent Frame begin?
Immanent Frame was born in late 2007 through luck and happy accidents. Initially, we planned to create a multi-authored blog that would cover a variety of disciplines and work in conjunction with the programming efforts of the Social Science Research Council.

The Social Science Research Council (SSRC) has received funding from the Henry Luce Foundation, the Tuggle Foundation, the Ford Foundation, and other philanthropic foundations to develop new initiatives and research activities on religion, secularism, and international affairs.
This effort soon became a comprehensive and innovative plan for religious and civic life. As the initiative progressed, we started making detailed plans for various conferences, workshops, social events and publishing opportunities.
At the same time, some of my SSRC colleagues studied digital media applications. They have expanded on the precedent of web applications focused on the social relevance of social science research, or “community sociology.”
Here we developed the concept of an immanent frame, which we developed before it had a name, a specific strategy for it. If not, where are we going and how are we going to get there? ?
What can we achieve if we combine modern technology with foresight and planning?
How does this relate to expanding the boundaries of our innovative, interdisciplinary research beyond the confines of academic journals and conferences? There are two main goals you mentioned.
Blogs were emerging at the time, and their unique capabilities allowed them to create and disseminate important forms of social science. We had hope because they had a chance to do it.
When it came down to it, the amount of work we wrote and released to the public and the wider academic community declined. A wider audience focuses on insights, debates and interactions that are rarely forgotten.
But we continue to support and publish hundreds of contributors despite their passion for critical thinking, work, and writing—not to mention the efforts of the creative and motivated editorial team that builds the Faith Network every day. Hard work – We failed in the end.
A small part of our vast, fragmented and growing conversational universe is where we do most of the work. However, it is the analytical enthusiasm of the partners and their commitment to the project. Public speaking is an ambiguous, frustrating behavior, especially on the Internet, and it continues to evolve.
Perhaps the lack of routine and structure in our youth gave us the freedom to try different perspectives and develop our own unique ideas.
What was the unexpected result?
I think there are always, and if you pay attention, you already know how many there are. Due to the unexpected decline of the immanent frame, a few years after the presentation, an opportunity arose to begin a new project on American spirituality.
This is a very important, complex issue and there are countless books, documentaries, documentaries, documentaries, documentaries, documentaries.
And we realized that the small working group wanted to grow into something bigger and more interesting. So we started preparing everything for a digital encyclopedia, which we eventually called Frequency.
The compendium aims to address spirituality as “a cultural technology, different repetitions and frequencies in the sky of experience.” In creating this series with the online literary magazine Kalinga Buddha, we took the format and content of Immanent Rama’s publishing method and took it in a unique and unfamiliar direction. I cannot speak highly enough of this team effort. However, I think the type of content he creates and selects is interesting for discussion. I remembered this when I was studying numerology on my tenth birthday.
How has digital publishing changed over the years?
This is a fascinating and complex question, and I’m not sure if I have any unique or privileged information to share. Things that were once considered dangerous or experimental are now commonplace or abandoned altogether.
Consolidation and deregulation of the media industry contribute to many of these changes. Also, the present moment reflects the idea of self-expression.
Because newsletters and podcasts are becoming more popular in the mainstream and beyond, across different borders and in different digital contexts.
