‘Knox Socks’ help families suffering from childhood cancer

BUFFALO, NY — In his third season in the NFL, Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox is a favorite of his on and off the field.

Since rookie season, Knox has devoted time to the PUNT Pediatric Cancer Collaborative. It provides financial and emotional support to western New York families with children diagnosed with childhood cancer.

The foundation helps pay for treatment, hospital bills, food and even hospital parking.

“The more we can raise money for the PUNT Foundation, the better off these families will be,” said Knox.

The Bills star once treated his family for childhood cancer, so he knows first-hand how a cancer diagnosis affects an entire family. But thankfully, I’ve beaten it since.

This is what motivates him to return to Osehi Children’s Hospital to brighten the day of his young fans.

“It’s unbelievable to walk into a room and instantly put a smile on your face,” Knox said. “It feels great for myself, but it was a really cool feeling to know that I could bring a little joy to someone’s life who was literally at rock bottom.

While in the hospital, Knox realized something. All patients wore gray non-slip hospital socks.

That observation motivated him to take it a step further and partner with Bare Feet to form ‘Knox Socks’.

“I know it rhymes with Knox already. It can be cool stuff that they can feel like theirs,” Knox said.

Proceeds from each pair of socks sold goes to PUNT

Knox says he didn’t design the socks, he just gave them permission. He plans to bring out more designs and even other apparel under his line. PUNT foundation too.
