A series of fires put people in the Superior Township area at risk

Superior Township, Michigan (WXYZ) — “Everybody is scared here right now and trying to figure out who it is,” said Felicia Heughan. Neighborhood in township.

Several homes were damaged or destroyed in seven fires that started in August.

Investigators from the Superior Township Fire Department and the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office believe it was set up on purpose.

On Monday, witnesses found a teenager living in the area trying to set fire to the patio. It has been put on hold pending review.

Kenneth Edwards and his wife live in one of the destroyed homes, and he suspects they would have missed it in time had their neighbors not warned them of the fire that had spread from the vacant house to the house.

“Thank God my neighbor,” Edwards told 7Action News. .”

The Michigan State Police Fire Department is also involved in the joint investigation.
