Telegram’s tablet support is a new app, but it’s not just a port of the existing versions. We’ve built something completely new from scratch using native Android components so that it feels at home on your tablet or desktop computer.
We started by looking at every aspect of Telegram’s user experience and asking ourselves what could be improved to make it more comfortable to use on larger screens. We then set out to solve those problems with tons of experiments and prototypes until we had something we liked.

To switch between your accounts, click on the avatar icon in the top right corner of your app or tap on your username in any chat list.
Can I use multiple devices for the same account simultaneously?
This is a question we get asked all the time, but it’s pretty simple. You can have as many accounts as you like on Telegram, and you can sign in to them from different devices simultaneously. The only limit is that each device can only be signed in to one account at the same time—but if you want two different accounts, two different devices will work just fine!
If this sounds complicated, don’t worry: it’s very simple! The easiest way to understand how this works is just by trying it out for yourself.
Will there be desktop notifications? (Windows, OS X, and Linux)
Yes, the desktop notifications are available on the web app, but they aren’t available on Windows, OS X, and Linux platforms. This is because these operating systems support notification APIs that Telegram Desktop doesn’t use:
-Windows (Windows 10) is using a native system integration service called “TrayNotify”.
-OS X uses its system notifications.
-Linux (Ubuntu 12.04) uses libnotify to display notifications as well as tray icons when there are new messages. We will be working on implementing our notification system for this platform in near future releases of Telegram Desktop

The biggest difference is that you can have group chats and secret chats on your desktop computer too. That’s in addition to the other great features like using stickers, sending files up to 1.5 GB (or 150 photos), and creating self-destruct timers for your messages. If you’re looking for something different than WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger but don’t want to pay for Viber or Skype, look no further!

Yes, you can record video messages with your computer’s camera and microphone.
You can upload them to Telegram in the same way as before — just click “Upload” in the menu of a chat, choose your video file, and send it. The recipient will see a preview of the video message as soon as it’s sent (if they don’t have an updated version of Telegram yet). If the recipient already has an updated version of Telegram, they will be able to see your new video message straight away when you send it.
