Mobile phone video shows MDPD officers blocking pregnant woman from entering emergency room in Doral – WSVN 7News | WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather & Sports

Doral, Florida. (WSVN) — Her husband, who took his pregnant wife to the hospital, said two Miami-Dade police officers refused to give her way.

Cell phone video captured the confrontation between the officer and the couple.

On Monday, the department said it was aware of the video.

On July 28, Kevin Enciso took his pregnant wife, Sabrina Enciso, to the emergency room on the West Campus of Jackson Memorial Hospital.

“It hurts so much,” Sabrina said in the video.

She said she had had an accident the day before and had been told by doctors to go to the hospital.

The couple took a detour when trying to park before the confrontation.

In the video, two agents were seen blocking the ER entrance and they were said to be talking to each other from their cars.

After being honked, one of the officers moved on, while the other turned the encounter into a traffic stop.

“Because I think I’m going to have a miscarriage,” Sabrina said in the video.

Kevin, who was the driver, was ordered out of the car. He refused to show his license and requested it from the police supervisor.

Sabrina said in the video, “I’m in the ER today because my doctor said I needed to do it so I wouldn’t lose this baby.”

Enescu’s wife continued filming the entire confrontation.

Sabrina also works at a hospital, so the family is familiar with JMH.

“What is your position at Jackson Hospital?” said the officer.

“I’m a financial analyst and I work in a business office,” Sabrina said.

A police officer calling himself Officer Daniels provided his own diagnosis.

“She’s agile, she’s breathing,” Daniels said.

A short distance from the ER door, Daniels called the fire brigade.

“Sit on the curb over there,” said Daniels.

The family said their civil rights had been violated and have since filed a complaint.

The Enciso family eventually received the treatment they needed and were in the hospital for several hours.

At this time, the incident is currently under investigation by the Ministry of the Interior.
