Unsealed documents in Mar-a-Lago raid draw attention to Trump, who may be subject to criminal investigation

The filing includes the Justice Department’s motion to seal the warrant documents, an order granting its sealing request, and the offender’s cover sheet.

Judges are expected to hear more details from the Justice Department by next week about how broadly investigators want to keep documents describing the procedures and methods of investigations that lead to the need for investigations confidential.

Reinhardt said he was still not convinced that the entire affidavit should remain private.

Reinhart said he was “not prepared to determine that the affidavit needed to be fully sealed” based on the current record, adding that there were “portions” that could be unsealed.

Prosecutors will have the opportunity to suggest redactions and explain why each piece of information should be kept hidden from the public eye, Reinhart said. These proposals close on his August 25th.
