CNN’s chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin leaves the network after 20 years

Toobin did not immediately respond to requests for details about his decision.

For years, Toobin was a mainstay on CNN’s show, appearing on the network’s most important moments in American current affairs and politics.

Toobin’s analysis is unflinching, and his candid commentary on former President Donald Trump has made him like the bogeyman of some conservatives.

However, CNN gave Toobin a second chance and welcomed it to air again eight months later. Toobin told anchor Alisin Kamerota about the incident during her first appearance back on air.

In that appearance with Camerota, Toobin described himself as “a flawed human being who makes mistakes” and said his actions were “extremely stupid and indefensible”.

During the interview, Toobin also apologized to his wife and family, those who were on the Zoom call that day, and his colleagues.
