Just after 3 a.m., 911 in Cedar County received a call about an explosion at a home, Nebraska Patrol’s John Bolduc said at a news conference Thursday. When the fire brigade arrived, they found a dead body inside.

Police said a second fire was reported several blocks away while investigators were at the scene, and authorities found “three dead inside the residence,” Boldac said. Stated.

“The fire brigade worked hard to put out the fire, but they also worked to preserve any evidence that might be inside the house,” Bolduc said. We are processing the second scene.”

Fraud is suspected in these deaths, Bolduc said.

“Shortly after the second fire was reported, law enforcement received reports that a silver sedan was seen leaving the town of Laurel. reported to be present,” Bolduc said. A man is believed to have been driving. Reports say the vehicle may have picked up passengers before leaving town.

Fire investigators believe that accelerators may have been used in both fires, and that anyone who was inside the home could have suffered burns.

“Therefore, it is possible that the suspects suffered burns in these incidents,” Bolduc said.

Authorities are asking anyone with information or video to contact them.

According to Bolduc, no cause or motive has been established at this time. Law enforcement expects to be on site overnight at both crime scenes.
