Four dead, including three children, eight injured in Pennsylvania tractor accident

Pennsylvania Police Chief of Communications Lieutenant Adam Reid said the man driving the tractor lost control of the vehicle and rolled over the embankment, throwing everyone out of the trailer.

A woman and three children were killed and eight children were injured, Reid said. The extent of injuries is unknown, and three of the injured were taken from the scene to hospital for treatment, he added.

Reed said the flatbed trailer was open and surrounded by about two feet of fencing.

Criminal investigative units, forensic teams, and crash analysis and reconstruction experts are working in Lower Chanceford Township, Reed said.

“While roads remain closed and the incident is still under vigorous investigation, it is clear that it is a highly tragic scene for all first responders out there.” My heart goes out to everyone, it’s a very tough day for everyone out there.”

“Anytime a life is lost, especially when children are involved, it’s very sad and very tragic,” Reid added.
