Upper Macan Ghee Township cop shoots a 15-foot pet snake wrapped around a man’s neck

Upper Macan, PA TWP (WPVI)-Police in Upper Macan, Pennsylvania said police shot a man’s pet snake after wrapping it around his neck and not letting it go.

On Wednesday afternoon, police officers rushed to the man’s house in Block 1400 on Church Street in Vogelsville.

Police said they asked the dispatcher to repeat the call because it was so rare.

A member of the family took them to a 28-year-old man who was unresponsive and lay on the floor with a 15-foot snake wrapped around his neck.

One of the policemen was able to shoot a snake deadly without hurting the man.

“The snake was so big that the center of the snake wrapped around my throat. The snake’s head was so far away from the victim that the policeman made a momentary decision and he started shooting the snake. Upper Said Lieutenant Peter Nikkisher of the McKangee Township Police Department.

Nikkisher said the snake did not die immediately.

“It didn’t just seem dead. It was fortunate to move away from the officers and away from the direction they were trying to pull this gentleman, and began to sly,” said Lieutenant Nikkisher. “They realized that it was a matter of life and death in seconds to make that decision. I praise the officers. They did what they had to do. It was a safe shot. . “

Resident Action News said they often saw their neighbors holding snakes in his vestibule, and they saw multiple snakes through the windows.

Police say they have never responded to such a thing.

“I think one of the executives described it as a horror movie scene, which is probably the best way to explain it,” Nikkisher said.

When the rescuers rushed him to the hospital, the man was still alive, but his current condition is unknown, Lieutenant Nikkisher said.

Police don’t know what kind of snake it was, but they said it was big.
