The prosecutor found that he was justified by shooting and killing a suspected shooter at Olathe East High School.

Olathe, Kansas (KCTV)-A police officer who shot the suspect Gunman in a March shooting at Olathe East High School was justified by his actions and will not be prosecuted, a Johnson County prosecutor said on Friday. Judgment was made.

A school resource officer, shot four times by a gunman at close range, returned the fire and shot the suspect twice in a swift and fierce confrontation in the assistant principal’s office on March 4.

Police said the student had notified school staff that the student, Jaron Elmore, had brought a gun to the school. The two vice-rectors went to Elmore’s classroom, pulled him out, and asked him to bring his backpack. According to investigators, the manager asked to look for an Elmore backpack while the three were sitting in the vice-rector’s office.

The student refused to allow the search for his backpack. SRO entered the office and stood by the door. According to findings from the offices of the Olathe Police Station and Johnson County Prosecutor Steve Howe, the Vice-Principal again demanded a backpack from Elmore, at which point Elmore stood up and pulled out a gun and fired at the people in the room.

According to the prosecutor’s findings, the assistant vice-rector stabbed the student into the ground, the SRO turned the fire back, shot Elmore four times, and hit him with two of them.

After a quick exchange, SRO was prone to his own injuries, holstering his weapons and instructing staff how to treat Elmore’s injuries.

A total of 3 people were shot dead.

-SRO, chest, legs, shoulders.

-Vice-rector of thighs and forearms.

-Student, reportedly Jaron Elmore, his abdomen and left thigh.

All involved survived.

As a result of investigation, Elmore is said to have used a Polymer 809mm pistol. SRO used a Glock 9mm pistol issued by the department.

Prosecutors have found that the shooting was justified on the part of the SRO in connection with Kansas law. Howe’s conclusion is as follows.

“Olathe School Resources Officer believed that he would die when Jaron Elmore pulled his pistol and began firing at him. He saw the muzzle flash and the bullets hit his body. This was a sudden and deadly outburst of violence without provocation. Objectively, the facts support this belief. The female professor said that the SRO Before responding, Mr. Elmore told investigators that he had pulled and shot a gun. The SRO was shot four times and three gun wounds occurred. This was clearly a deadly force situation. Under all appropriate laws and cases, it was reasonable for police officers to use deadly force against Jaron Elmore in Mr. Elmore’s pending criminal cases and Supreme Court rules 3.6 and 3.8. In light of my ethical obligations based on, I have no press conferences or further comments at this time.

Elmore recovered from a gunshot wound and was hospitalized for several weeks. He was later transferred to Johnson County Detention Center, where a $ 1 million deposit remains. He was charged with attempted innocence and pleaded not guilty. His next court day is a scheduled meeting set at 11:00 am on August 17th in Johnson County Division 17.
