Alaa Abdel Fattah: “My brother is confident he won’t come out of Egyptian prison alive.”

The family of prominent British and Egyptian democratic activists who have been on a hunger strike in prison for over 100 days is becoming more and more interested in him.

Alaa Abdel Fattah is one of the hottest of the tens of thousands of government critics imprisoned in Egypt for saying that human rights groups are politically motivated accusations.

He acquired British citizenship in April. And British politicians and celebrities came out with his support.

Caroline Hawley of the BBC was talking to her sister Mona.

Since the video was shot, his name has been reported to have been passed to Egyptian authorities to be subject to the president’s amnesty. However, nothing has been published so far.
