Duluth Air Show prepares for a busy weekend

Duluth, Minnesota (KBJR 6)-Thanks to many different planes, thrills, fun, and lots of historical weekends.

The Duluth Air Show will soar in the sky with 15 performances, including the historic World War II plane B-25 Mitchell in North America.

Mitch Bertrand, mission coordinator for the Commemorative Air Force Minnesota Wing, said:

They help preserve and restore historic fighters and allow people to be taught about the history of the country.

“Our mission is to educate, inspire, and respect,” Bertrang said. “To help that next generation understand what our previous generation did for us, and the freedom we have today.”

From World War II planes to modern planes, the Duluth Air Show features the best aviation.

Major Kyle Oliver will fly a # 5 F-16 jet for the US Air Force Thunderbirds returning to the air show after their final performance in 2018.

Fan favorites move in the air.

This year’s Duluth Air Show will feature three female pilots: Thunderbird # 3 Major Lauren Schlitting, F-35 Major Christine Wolf, and civilian pilot Jesse Panzer.
