According to the announcement, two passengers on the trailer truck that caused the accident were injured and died at the scene. Two other passengers from one of the cars that collided when the tractor trailer entered the northbound traffic were also injured and killed after being taken to the hospital.

The driver of the tractor trailer was taken to the same hospital and “suspected to be under the influence of alcohol,” GSP said.

According to the release, once the investigation is complete, the charges will be processed by GSP.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, all north and south lanes of the I-95 were reopened after an hour of closure due to the collision.
