One of the women who said her husband was murdered by Russian troops on the night of rape left her hometown in the Brobarui district to save further pain for herself and her teenage son.
Another woman is staying and seeking justice from the Ukrainian authorities.
CNN talked about the tragic experience with women in the Brobarui district and agreed not to share their real name (or family name) to protect their privacy. They are only two of the hundreds of Ukrainians who have reported allegations of war crimes.
“There have been 700 reports since April 1,” said Ludmila Denisovan, a human rights ombudsman in the Ukrainian parliament, including at least one alleged rape of the boy.
“It’s very difficult. I know someone has to do it. For our fighters at the forefront, it’s much harder for them. They’re in danger every minute. This Is at the forefront of my own. ”
According to Denisovan, the rape case is being investigated by the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
“From the details we were given, we are 100% confident that a war crime was committed,” said Olexiy Bonuk, head of the department within the public prosecutor’s office investigating the case.
The women spoken by CNN said their suffering was exacerbated by local gossip about what happened to them and the stigmas given to the rape victims. But they are determined to fight.

The women were neighbors of a village in the Brobarui district, about an hour’s drive from Kyiv.
Both women are married. Both are in their early 40s. And both say they were targeted by Russian soldiers.
“We are the youngest women in the village, and they wanted a lean woman,” said one of the survivors who heard the soldiers talking.
“What the bitch’s son did to me was terrible. He forced me …”
The woman CNN calls Nika backtracks. Her eyes go down. “She can’t talk about it. I’m embarrassed and scared.”
The Russians began engaging with Ukrainian troops in the Brobarui district on March 1. Nika said she first approached on March 9 while she was at home with her husband.
Russian soldiers and their commanders came to their home and demanded that she and her husband hand over their phone. She said her troops left after Russian soldiers attacked her home and grazed their commanders.
Nika said two young Russian soldiers had returned at midnight. They pulled her away from her husband, snatched her in the hood of her coat, down the street from her house, to the house of her neighbor where another survivor CNN called Dasha was sleeping. I dragged it in. Dasha’s husband, daughter and mother Valentina were also sleeping at home.
When the Russians arrived and knocked on the door, “they slammed very hard, shook everything, and rattled the windows,” Valentina said.
Dasha’s husband went out to talk to the soldiers, she said, and Nika was listening to the man’s claims outside.
After a while, Nika said she heard what the murder of a homeothermic sounded.
“There was a short conversation, then there was a bang! There was a fireworks-like shot,” Nika said. “My body was trembling.”
She then saw a Russian soldier obscuring Dasha’s husband’s body.
The soldiers then took her and Dasha down the street to the vacant house during the invasion, Nika said. She heard her soldiers calling each other by name: Danya and Oleg.
“While we were there, Danya said,” What do you think, Oleg? See who we f ** k! “Nika apologized, citing his cursed words. bottom.
Nika said she was raped by Danya downstairs in the house, even after trying to reason with him.
She said Danya told Nika she was 19 years old.
“I said I was 41. My brother is the same age as you. I asked him if he had a girlfriend. He said,” Yes. She is 17 years old. But I have sex with her. did not.”
Nika asked, “Why do you do this? You said you didn’t see the woman for two weeks.”
When she talks, her voice gets angry. “Can you believe it? It’s crazy.”
Escape bullets and accusations
Both Nika and Dasha survived the attack. But soon another threat emerged. The town broke out during a fierce battle between Russian and Ukrainian troops.
During the battle, the women fled the prisoners and said the soldiers were scared and unable to chase for a long time.
However, escaping the attacker meant running through a lively battle zone.
“Bullets were flying from the forest. I thought,’Oh my god, someone will see me and kill me,'” Nika said.
In a big crisis, the women managed to get home. Dasha had to face not only the horror she had just endured, but also the need to mourn the loss of her murdered husband.
With the village under Russian occupation, Dasha and Valentina tried to dig a tomb, but the ground was too frozen. According to Valentina, Dasha went to the Russian commander to do her best to seek help in burying her husband.
“She said,’You came at night and killed him. Please help us bury him,’ Valentina said.
She said the Russian commander was taken prisoner and the soldiers helped bury Dasha’s husband in the family backyard. However, proper burial was out of the question under the occupation.
To make matters worse, gossip quickly floated around the village. Neighbors have begun to blame women for their collaborators and special benefits of sex.
“I wasn’t working with them. I was afraid of them. It’s crazy!” Dasha resented and told CNN. “Did they see it? Did they see it? They didn’t. I can also accuse them. It doesn’t make them true.”
Two victims-rape, and rumors-Nika said, “God sees everything.”
She will do whatever it takes to help the prosecutor prove the assault.
“I want them (soldiers) to be punished by the judge. They have to decide what to do with them: shoot, kill and tear them. Bastard.”
