Visiting an island is a great thing to do with kids. On the island the whole family can also participate in many activities. There are 2 main islands near Cairns, Green Island and Fitzroy Island. Even though they look different, they both offer about the same tours and activities. Green Island is much smaller, only 12 hectares in size when Fitzroy Island is much larger, 339 hectares. Both locations take about 45 – 50 minutes by boat to get there.
