The view from the peak is beautiful. From the top of Mount Puncak Jayna, hikers can see snow-covered peaks of other mountains in Malaysia and Indonesia. The mountain is also surrounded by lush vegetation, making it seem almost tropical from such a lofty height. Many believe that Mount Puncak Jaya resembles an ice cream cone due to its white color and curling peaks. There are many hiking trails around Mount Puncak Jayna that lead to various natural wonders such as waterfalls, lakes, and wild animals. However, hikers must be cautious because some trails are more dangerous than others- especially after dark. One trail leads through an area known as ‘the gorges,’ which has several hundred feet of dangerous cliffs along its length. Miners also use these gorges to reach the mountain’s peak; they call it their ‘Mount Everest’ as it’s even tougher than climbing Mount Puncazk Jakua itself.
