President Joe Biden arrived at the Department of Defense on Sunday morning, where he attended the wreath-laying ceremony, 9/11 commemorative event.
Biden paused briefly in front of the ceremonial wreath, touched it, and placed his hand over his heart.The ceremony was also attended by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, who delivered remarks.

Responding to questions from reporters before boarding Air Force One to travel from Delaware to Washington, D.C., Mr. Biden asked whether there were plans to deal with the families of 9/11 victims seeking justice after the attacks. Meanwhile, Vice President Kamala Harris met with families who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks after arriving at the National 9/11 Memorial in New York City. Harris, who is attending a memorial service at Ground Zero, also met with her first responders, according to White House officials.
First Lady Jill Biden will also speak at a 9/11 memorial service in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, on Sunday morning. The first lady will be joined by her sister, Bonnie Jacobs, her communications director Elizabeth Alexander, who is a United Airlines flight attendant, told CNN.
About 3,000 people were killed in attacks orchestrated by al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. The hijacked airliner crashed into fields near the World Trade Center in New York City, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
