West Allis, Wisconsin (CBS 58) — A West Allis teenager died suddenly on August 15 of a severe asthma attack.
Now his family hopes the 13-year-old boy’s story can help save someone else.
“He was full of joy and happiness,” said his father, Anthony Miller.
Ky’reelle’s family met CBS 58 at one of the teen’s favorite spots, the Yannis Mural in downtown Milwaukee.
“All, all Bucks games. We had never been, but we watched them and he kind of followed his career a little bit,” Miller said. .
Miller said his son was a playful brother, a protective friend, and an excellent student.
“A happy, happy child,” said Miller.
Ky’reelle had suffered from asthma his whole life, but his father said his visits to the doctor and emergency room became more frequent as his condition suddenly worsened.
He told CBS 58 that Kyleal always receives respiratory treatment and goes home.
“We did everything you could do. He had a rescue inhaler. He had an inhaler at home. He had an inhaler at school, and he had an inhaler.” had a respiratory machine at home and it still wasn’t there… enough,” Miller said.
Ky’reelle stopped breathing after an asthma attack on August 24, according to her father.
Miller now encourages parents to ask more questions at the clinic.
“I don’t want anyone else to go through what I’m going through right now: losing a child,” Miller said.
Most of all, he said he would hug your children a little tighter tonight.
“Tomorrow isn’t promised, so just say ‘I love you,'” Miller said. “I want to spend more time with my son.”
Ky’reelle’s family said they were grateful for the outpouring of support from the community.
The West Alice community hosted a lemonade stand fundraiser for families on Friday.
