Villanova University says the man has committed crimes on campus in the past. He is now accused of preying on a female student.

Vilanova is telling students to stay vigilant after police said Wednesday night that the suspect was behind many crimes on campus. Indicted, students say the new information is disturbing.

Villanova University has released a photo of 40-year-old Eugene Hammen to everyone on campus.

University police say he’s the man who broke into a student’s room at Good Counsel Hall during the fall semester break last October.

Then, four months ago, police say Hammen was attacked again and arrested after loitering outside Caughlin Hall.

After months of investigation, the university is issuing a new safety warning after police said Hammen also took pictures of female students outside their south campus dormitory.

“I was pretty upset. I know things like this aren’t usually taken seriously on college campuses, so it was pretty upsetting,” said student Julia Volberg. .

CBS3 was said to have notified the victim.

In both incidents, the university said Hammen was driving a 2014 dark blue Ford Transit van.

Vilanova doesn’t think he’s been back on campus lately, but since he’s no longer in prison, his photo has been shared and students are being told to be vigilant.

“They had a list of charges against him,” student Patrick Magitti said. said.

Hamen University has no affiliation with the university, and security has been enhanced since last fall with the addition of lighting, cameras and license plate reader technology, according to police.

However, after Hammen has been accused of targeting campuses multiple times, students are told to remain vigilant.

“It’s definitely scary,” said student Jamie Pennington.

CBS3 was quoted as saying that Hamen was given a curfew and told to stay off campus.

However, anyone who sees him is urged to call the police.

Hamen has been charged with robbery, loitering and trespassing. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing in court in November.
