Gavin Newsom pledges $100,000 to help Charlie Christ defeat Ron DeSantis

California Democrats tweeted Thursday that they pledged $100,000 to make DeSantis a “one-term governor,” and called on his supporters to donate to Christo.

Asked about the donation during an event in Los Angeles, Newsom said he was compelled to donate to Christo because “I don’t like bullies.” Pointing to a verbal assault on Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Republican leader said of the country’s top infectious disease expert, “Someone needs to grab that little elf and throw him across the Potomac. ‘ said.

“Using a derogatory term for being short… who raised these guys?” said Newsom. “What are they like? We all know they had to sit there and suck it up and accept the demonization of (Donald) Trump, but everyone is like him. You don’t have to act. I mean, I literally remember growing up. Their mouths were washed with soap when I spoke like this.

DeSantis’ campaign responded to news of Newsom’s contribution by tweeting videos stitching together clips of crime, homelessness, and drag show performances in California.

Both Newsom and DeSantis are considered future presidential candidates for their respective parties, and their cross-border rivalries have been boiling over for some time. The two leaders have been deputies in the battle between blue and red states over pandemic policy. Thousands would have died, he said. DeSantis accused Newsom of handing over control of his state to a “coercive biomedical apparatus” that repeatedly pushed Covid 19-related shutdowns.

Newsom made waves in Florida over the weekend of July 4th with an ad encouraging people to move to the Golden State. In his rebuttal to the commercial, DeSantis’ campaign noted that while Florida was attracting more people than any other state, California was losing its residents.
